Parent Page, chapter 28

The title in the adult book is New Beginnings but we need to remember this is a continuation of the Story from the very beginning...when God started planning creation.

Jesus rose form the dead! We are told he gave his apostles many convincing proofs that he was alive. He was able to pass through locked doors or walls and enter the place they were gathered on 2 occasions. He taught them about the kingdom of God and he ate meals with them. And then, right before their eyes, he ascended into heaven.

Ten days after Jesus ascended into heaven, his disciples were galvanized when the Holy Spirit came on them. They were able to speak in the languages of the people visiting Jerusalem from many different countries. Peter, the disciple who denied knowing the Lord, boldly proclaimed God's words to the gathered people.

Three very important events take place in this chapter:

1. The Holy Spirit indwells believers
2. Saul has an encounter with Jesus and goes from Christian persecutor to Jesus believer.
3. Peter has a vision and is then directed to go to Cornelius which is one of the first very important times Gentiles are lead to a believing faith in Jesus AND indwelt by the Holy Spirit. God and Salvation is (are?) for all people
